Fortell meg... is a prototype created for the Oslo Metropolitan university course; Fairytales and Creativity. This was an individual assignment where I had the freedom to create whatever I desired, as long as it had something to do with the course and it’s theories. With this product I am moving forward, combining the two worlds of technology and storytelling.
For this project I created a prototype based upon the theories of old from Bruno Bettelheim and Lev Vygotsky to combine them with the everyday use of technology today. It is said that the child’s imagination can project fairy tales on what is happening in the world around them, and offer ‘healthier alternatives’ to certain impulses. From personal observation when using public transportation, I'd see children and parents use their phones as a distraction (for themselves or their children), watching YouTube videos or play games. I wish for them to be able to immerse themselves into the world of fairytales.
How can I motivate children to immerse and lose themselves in fairy tales again, but also giving them the freedom to explore every aspect of it?
